Having already represented Ushio at Cinema events in Odesa and St. Petersburg, the “We Love Cinema!” tour is preparing to arrive in Western Europe. Once again, the seaside resort of Deauville, France, plays host to the Congrès de la Federation Nationale des Cinemas Français (FNCF), from 20–23 September 2021.
As our team takes their annual celebration to the homeland of Cinema, the Ushio booth will host some familiar faces, Christelle Pelle-Baguet and Pierre-Oliver Bancal. This year, they will be joined by two colleagues from our European headquarters, Agata Michalak and Job van der Heijden. As ever, the team will be available to answer any questions you have regarding Ushio’s xenon digital projector lamps and services.
Can’t wait until FNCF begins? Get right up-to-date with Ushio’s xenon cinema lamp collection, by downloading our latest Xenon Cinema Projector Lamp brochure here (available in French, English, and Russian).

- DXL/LU: The most advanced lamp series in the Ushio collection, DXL/LU LUMINITY lamps offer up to 500 additional warranty hours. These lamps usher in a new era of unprecedented quality and profitability for cinema owners. The new DXL/LU series takes the concept of long lamp lifetimes to the extreme, by refusing to sacrifice performance to achieve it
Ushio salutes the recovery of French Cinema
While last year’s 75th FNCF Congress went ahead during one of the most uncertain periods in Cinema history, concerns surrounding the pandemic present less of a struggle now, since many successful events have taken place already. While proper precautions will remain in place, industry confidence is higher this year, as theatre attendance continues to climb and the flow of releases gradually increases.
With the arrival of vaccinations and reliable testing, the surviving theatres have dusted off their admissions booth. Yet, the less fortunate may never reopen their doors again. The impact will be felt for years to come and we mourn those who buckled under such conditions. Those who continue to rebuild during the post-lockdown recovery will need to rely on each other. Whether or not that works will depend on trust, support, and loyalty.
Now, the cameras are rolling once again and the projectors are fired up. If there was any doubt before their small-screen isolation, the French audience knows there is no magic like Cinema. Carefully created worlds and the excitement of a masterful plot twist just don’t hit you in the same way anywhere else. Your audience missed you: that much is clear.
Facing each setback with dignity and integrity, French Cinema stuck together throughout the journey. The Ushio team sends a message of gratitude for everything you do for Ushio and the rest of the big screen community. Just remember, if there is anything we can do to make your journey easier, you can always drop by our booth.
