The Ushio Europe groups welcomes William F.Mackenzie as its new chairman, president and CEO, effective December 1st, 2024.
William F. Mackenzie has multiple roles inside Ushio. In addition to being a Shikko Yakuin* & Ushio Group Senior Executive officer he is responsible for:
- Global photonics solutions (Lasers, LED’s, Optics, Modules and Systems)
- Ushio Europe Group (International, Netherlands, Germany, France, UK and Poland)
- Necsel Intellectual Inc a worldwide laser solutions company, and
- The Advanced Packaging partnership with Applied Materials.
In this role, William leads multiple companies and factories in USA, Europe and Asia to bring Solutions to meet customers’ problems and needs.
As a global business leader, a technology entrepreneur with 35 years of experience and a Silicon Valley veteran, William has successfully managed and guided global companies – public, private, start-up, and mature. Including starting a semiconductor/telecom “Unicorn” IPO that went public less than four years after its inception with a market cap of $4B, to founding a laser company that created an entirely new market of Laser Cinema.
William holds a degree with Honors in Applied Physics from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland. He is a citizen of three countries and spent over four years in Asia.
