Ushio is pleased to announce the development and release of the HL78002MG, a high-performance infrared laser diode (LD) designed for life science applications. With an optical output power of 200mW, a wavelength of 785nm, and a focus on high reliability and superior beam quality, this LD is poised to meet the stringent demands of fields such as Raman spectroscopy and indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging in medical applications.
Raman spectroscopy, a widely-used non-destructive method for analyzing molecular structures and chemical compositions, has broad applications across medicine, pharmaceuticals, materials science, and environmental monitoring. The technology requires light sources with high sensitivity and accuracy to ensure precise detection. In parallel, the ICG fluorescence method uses indocyanine green dye to inspect tissues and blood vessels with fine detail, aiding in tumor detection and drug-assisted treatments – highlighting the growing demand for dependable, high-performance laser diodes.
To address these needs, Ushio has developed the HL78002MG, an infrared LD that combines high optical output power with excellent beam quality and long operational life. This new product leverages Ushio’s cutting-edge technology to offer stable, long-term operation in a compact 5.6 mmφ package, operating efficiently even at high temperatures of up to 75°C. The built-in monitor photodiode further ensures stable operation with constant optical output power, making it an ideal solution for high-precision analysis of microscopic samples in Raman spectroscopy and enhancing the performance and reliability of medical instruments.
Ushio remains committed to driving innovation in photonics technology, continuously delivering advanced products that address the evolving needs of customers in the life sciences and medical fields.
