Photonics Solutions team celebrates global recognition for 700 nm high-power laser diode
The award-winning technology, revealed by Ushio’s engineering team, features single-mode, continuous wave (CW) 200 mW red laser diodes (LDs), with 5 nm wavelength increments, ranging from 660 nm to 705 nm.
These laser diodes are the first to achieve reliable continuous operation in this wavelength range, representing a significant advancement in the industry. The full presentation and paper, “Red laser diodes explore the future of biomedical and quantum technology”, was initially announced at this year’s SPIE Photonics West event and is available through the SPIE digital Library.
In addition to their unprecedented performance, these laser diodes boast high wall plug efficiency (>30%) and excellent temperature characteristics, making them an ideal solution for sensing, biomedical, and quantum technology applications.

High-power Laser Diodes revolutionize Photonics with enhanced efficiency & versatility
