Ushio to Showcase Cutting-Edge Photonics Solutions at LASER World of PHOTONICS 2025

Ushio Germany is excited to announce its participation in this year’s LASER World of PHOTONICS trade fair, taking place from June 24 to 27, 2025, at the Messe München. Laser Diode Innovations

• HL63680HD – 638nm, 4.2 W Pulsed Red Laser Diode - Ushio continues to lead in high-power laser diode development with the HL63680HD series. This red laser diode achieves a world-record 4.2 W in pulsed mode at 638 nm, operating at 45°C, and boasts a wall-plug efficiency of 45% at 25°C. With a mean time to failure (MTTF) exceeding 20,000 hours, it is ideal for applications in projectors. • HL78002MG – 785nm, 200mW Infrared Laser Diode - Launched end of 2024, this high-performance infrared laser diode is designed for life science applications, including Raman spectroscopy and indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging. It offers high reliability and superior beam quality.

LED Innovations

• SWIR D Series SMBB 1900 – The new additions to the high-efficiency “epitex D Series” SWIR LEDs expand the emission wavelength range up to 1900 nm, offering world-class output power and efficiency. With a significantly higher water absorption coefficient than the conventional 1450 nm band, the 1900 nm band enhances moisture detection capabilities, making it ideal for high-contrast imaging and sensing applications. • Ultra-Compact SWIR Flip-Chip LED – Ushio has also introduced an ultra-compact LED package with a footprint of 0.6 x 0.3 mm, utilizing a flip-chip structure with InP materials. This design eliminates the need for wire bonding, reducing package size and enhancing output power, making it ideal for applications in smartphones, vital sensing, and proximity sensors.
