HORTURION® HPS E40 series

Over the last 30 years, high-pressure sodium lamps (HPS) have brought proven benefits to horticulture. The colour spectrum is rich in red and far-red light, which stimulates elongation growth and optimises fructification. Therefore, it is best suited to increase yield. Further, the heat emission of the lamps supports assimilation by slightly increasing the leaf temperature. This is especially an advantage during the colder months when low temperatures normally reduce plant growth. In other words: HPS light helps to shorten the harvest cycle.

Ushio continues to manufacture single-ended HPS lamps. They are manufactured in the company's own factory in Poland and are available in three power levels: 400 W / 600 W and 750 W.

Compared to double-ended lamps, the single-ended versions have a lower heat output. As they produce much less heat, they can be beneficial for some greenhouses. For one thing, heat management is easier as overheating cannot occur under normal circumstances. Professional thermal management usually requires more equipment and additional costs.

Secondly, the plants can be placed much closer to the light - which is ideal if you are growing in a smaller space or with a low ceiling height.
